Stranger Ways

my life was once bountiful
but now it seems less beautiful
used to love being with you
now i sit by and watch you
where my love once bloomed
is now where cold misery looms
my mind was once sound
and now I’m running around
searching for a familiar face
fighting to get back on pace
my lips are frozen, my vision blurry
my soul broken, my voice slurry
I admit I have had some better days
but things has changed to stranger ways
caught myself zoning out in the mirror
one Sunday morning without a care
I went to church in a t-shirt and jeans on
wearing a frown with nothing but gloss on
They jump in joy for their love for God
but some beg for the healing from the pain of love
some days I’m able to stand on my own two feet
some times I lie down sinking into my own defeat
I admit I have had some better days
but things has changed to stranger ways
