Write on Me

Some days I write a song- on other days, a poem

If the piece isn’t done, don’t stay up – I’m not coming home

All night long and “once upon a time” was all I wrote on it

It’s a canvas begging  me to paint my thoughts upon it

Not with watercolor, but with pen ink or pencil lead

If i don’t have either, I’ll simply just bleed

The canvas says, “just write on me,”

“Let me be your release”

The hand holding the pen rebels, “I cannot for I have a writer’s block”

The canvas laughed, “let your imagination be the key to your lock”
